Solar panels sit on your roof for 25 years or more, so the roof underneath matters as much as the panels. Most solar companies are electricians, not roofers. We look after both.
• Roof checked first. We survey the structure and covering before quoting, so panels never go on a roof that will need replacing in a few years.
• Fixed without leaks. Brackets, flashings and membranes are fitted by trained roofers, so the roof stays watertight.

How our solar installation works
1. Roof survey
We check the roof structure, covering, orientation and shading.
2. Design and quote
We size the system to your energy use and give you a fixed quote with expected savings.
3. Roof preparation
Any repairs or re-roofing are done first, by our own roofers.
4. Installation
Panels, inverter and any battery are fitted on each property.
5. Handover
We test the system, register it, and give you your MCS certificate and guarantees.

Solar FAQ's
Most solar installations on homes fall under permitted development and do not need planning permission. Listed buildings, conservation areas and some commercial roofs may need consent. We check this during the survey.
Yes. We fit angled frames that face the panels towards the sun and protect the roof membrane, so the roof stays watertight and guaranteed.
Not always. We survey the roof first. If it will need replacing within the life of the panels, it is usually cheaper to re-roof and fit solar in one job, with one set of scaffolding.
An MCS-certified installation is normally needed to get paid for the electricity you export through the Smart Export Guarantee. Axe Roofing is MCS certified.
